The experience behind the numbers

Our Managing Director has been running moves and quoting jobs for over 30 years. He knows how long a three-bedroom house really takes, what a flight of stairs does to the clock, and why a long walk from the truck adds time.

The estimator puts that knowledge into numbers. How much furniture a home holds, how many movers it takes, how long loading and unloading run, and what stairs, lifts and long carries add all come from decades of real jobs, not guesswork or a formula copied from somewhere else.

How it works

It takes a couple of minutes, and you can stop whenever you like.

1. Quick estimate. Tell us your suburbs, the number of bedrooms, the type of house at each end and how close the truck can park. You get a price range straight away.
2. Room-by-room estimate (optional). If you’d like a sharper number, walk through your home and tick off what you own. The estimator adds up the volume of everything, down to the boxes, and gives you a more detailed range.
3. Your copy. Ask for a PDF copy by email, and we’ll receive one too, so we can follow up if you want to go ahead.

Stairs, lifts, a long walk from the truck and the drive between your two addresses are all counted, just as we’d count them if we were standing in your living room.

No hidden charges, no surprises

We don’t believe in low prices that grow once the truck turns up. Your estimate shows exactly what goes into the number:

• the time we expect the move to take, and how many movers
• the hourly rate
• the call-out fee, which has its own line
• any specialist items, such as a piano or spa pool
• GST

We give you a range, not a single number, because no one can see every cupboard from a website. And we’re upfront about what can change the final price: difficult access, items that weren’t on your list, and heavy traffic. It’s a sight-unseen estimate, not an official quotation, and we say so on every one.
